Dear colleagues,
We're preparing a researchproject here at our university (Vrije
Universiteit Brussels) on policies and procedures for students with a
disabilities. The aim of this project is to develop a kind of code of
practice. I know some countries have a national code of practice.
With Australia and the UK as enlightning examples!
As a matter a fact i'm looking for as much different codes of practice
as possible. I'm really want to see and read different institutional
guidelines on students with disabilities. Because i suppose the
national code of practice was a model, an example, ... and that each
and every college or university could make its own interpretation or
version of this code?
Do you have any experience with these kind of institutional
guidelines? I've already been looking at the Austrilian code of practice
and the QAA for HE code of practice for the assurance of academic
quality and standards in HE (section 3). I'm still looking for more
examples of these kinds code of practice's, which are hopefully more
institution-specific translations of national codes of practice ....Does
your institute has any publications on this subject? I'm hoping to find
as much as possible different examples of guidelines/handbooks ... .
So, you would make me a very happy person and you would help our
research a lot by e-mailling ([log in to unmask]) me references,
websites on equity-policies for students with disabilities or sending
me a copy of your institutes code of practice ...
with much respect and kind regards,
Joeri Van den Brande.
