SWAPltsn at the SPA conference in Belfast
Three members of the SWAP team - Jackie Rafferty, Sue Orton and Pat
Young - will be attending the SPA's annual conference.
1. We will be runnning two workshops on developments in e-learning.
In preparing for these, we would very much like to hear
from anyone who is using ICT in their teaching of Social
Policy. We want to hear about the process of developing
e-learning and teaching, whether you are at
the beginning with limited aims at the moment, or more ambitious in
your use of technology.
2. We also hope to run a session on
interactive teaching in Social Policy and again would hope people
might participate with examples from their own practice.
3. We are prepared to support anyone wanting to use IT in
their presentations - get in touch when your abstract is
accepted if you would like our
help.
4. Finally, we are happy to facilitate a discussion of issues
around QAA, programme specifications, working to develop ways of
supporting staff with these procedures. This can be seen as a
development from the SPA/SWAP benchmarking event in London in July
(see SWAP's website for materials from this event, including now notes
of workshops). If you are interested in such a discussion (subject to
the agreement of the conference organisers) of course, we need you to
let us know. Please respond to any of these ideas by e-mailing sue
