BREAKING NEW GROUND
This year the School of Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Nottingham will once again be hosting a postgraduate conference following the very well-received 'New Directions in Social Research' conference held in June 2000, with 90 participants from 34 home and 1 overseas institutions.
As with last year, the aim of the conference is to create an opportunity to meet other postgraduates doing research in the social sciences and hear about research at different stages of completion.
This year, the title of the conference is Breaking New Ground, and it will be held on Wednesday 6th June, 2001. We invite papers from any postgraduate researcher in the UK who would like to contribute.
The keynote speaker at the Breaking New Ground conference will be Nick Crossley, a lecturer at the Department of Sociology, University of Manchester. Dr Crossley will be speaking on:
"Sociology and Democracy"
The deadline for submitting abstracts for the Breaking New Ground conference is Friday, April 16th 2001. Please send submissions of approximately 200 words to:
