Call for Papers
Capability, the journal of Higher Education for Capability, wishes to
publish a special edition with the theme ‘Developing Capability in SMEs’.
We know that there are many case studies that have been funded through
regeneration and European grants and which have been evaluated. We would
invite those who have been involved with this type of programme or who have
a conceptual or theoretic perspective to offer, to contact us and discuss
whether there is potential for a paper in an academic journal. We would
particularly like papers an EU perspective. We anticipate that the
following issues could be the focus for a paper
Effective models of computer and on-line
learning
Developing a learning culture in SMEs
The provider/learner interface.
While we have suggested themes, this does not mean that we are not
interested in hearing from people with different ideas.
Capability prides itself on facilitating publication. We work with authors
to satisfy the comments and observations of referees. We particularly
welcome papers from people whose experience of writing for an academic
journal is limited or whose experience does not extend to writing about
education practice and policy. We are a refereed journal, so publications
can be counted for research assessment purposes.
If you have an idea for a paper and would like to explore it further,
please contact the editor Professor Peter Newby at
