Andrew, if it's qual software issues you are focussing on, the Institute of
Education at the University of London has just now confirmed the dates for
their third international conference bringing together researchers
conducting qualitative projects or teaching with the software developed by
QSR. It will be 7,8,9 Feb 2000. I expect the details will be available
soon. The previous two were just great, giving people an opportunity to
discuss strategies without spending half their time explaining the software
tools they were using! The Institute's website is
http://www.ioe.ac.uk/conference_news/Codiary.htm#Strategies
Further from you, if you are wanting more general qualitative discussion
that isn't discipline or tool-specific, the second conference of the
Association for Qualitative Research runs Thurs - Sat 5-7 July, this year.
If you don't know about this small but energetic association, check it out
at <http://www.latrobe.edu.au/www/aqr/index.html>). Founded three years ago
in Melbourne, it ran an extremely successful conference in 1999, buzzing,
friendly and most unusually crossdisciplinary - and this second one will be
in the same venue (a heritage hotel in downtown Melbourne). Yes it's winter
here then, but we do winter kindly :-)
cheers
Lyn

Subject: Conferences
Dear All
I wonder if anyone has any information on forthcoming international
conferences, which focus on
the following:
1) General qualitative research
2) Grounded Theory
3) Use of QDA software in research
I am particularly interested in those where a call for abstracts is now
underway.
Thankyou in advance
