Hi,
I work with copd-patients and do a lot of (endurance-)training with them.
Now I wonder: what is the limit for a "normal" copd-patient, without cor
pulmonale regarding hypoxy. In other words: when I measure saturation using
a pulse-oximeter during endurance training, how much is a patient allow to
drop. I've learned that this limit is about 92% SaO2. Below this limit,
vasoconstriction in the small long-arteries results in pulmonary
hypertension (I was told).
Could I please get some feedback about this subject from other
lung-physio's.
Thanks,
Isaac
