On April 4th 2001 The Royal College of Psychiatrists' Research Unit is
holding its annual conference "Clinical Excellence in Mental Health 2001:
making it happen" at Church House, London SW1.
The event will be introduced and chaired by Professor Sir David Goldberg and
Professor John Cox will provide the opening address. Speakers include,
Professor Anthony Sheehan (DoH), Professor Peter Littlejohns (NICE), Dr
Jocelyn Cornwell (CHI), Professor Graham Thornicroft (IoP), Professor Aiden
Halligan (NCGST) and Professor Martin Eccles (NICE) amongst others.
This year we will be looking at the progress NICE and CHI have made and how
this relates to mental health services. For the first time we have included
presentations on the new Mental Health Collaborating Centre and the first
commissioned guideline on the management of schizophrenia.
In the parallel sessions we will also be looking at the implementation of
clinical governance and the National Service Frameworks. This will include
presentations on new work of the National Clinical Governance Support Team
and the Clinical Governance Support Service, and the review methods CHI will
be using for mental health services.
This is a chance for you to hear up-to-date information on these initiatives
and to ask questions of their most senior representatives. The standard
delegate fee is £175.00 per person. EVIDENCE-BASED-HEALTH subscribers
qualify for a 20% discount - £140.00 per person.
