Hi everyone
I have only had the opportunity to skim the document. Being my interest
area, I am obviously interested in access to leisure. I did notice
reference to sport, art, tourism, galleries, museums and archives. All very
worthwhile and wholesome activities - morally uplifting and cultured. I did
not notice (and I concede my reading was skimmed) anything about access to
social opportunities and recreation facilities and services. Nor did I see
anything about access to the [life] space called "leisure". With better
access to work and education may come a stronger emphasis on the ethic that
all virtue lies in productivity. An ethic that has devalued and undermined
the 'inherent' human rights of disabled people since the Reformation and the
Industrial revolution. This ethic has demonised "unearned" self-determined
pleasure and enjoyment and supports the ideals of economic rationalism
through guilt and compulsion. I urge people to protect their right to
freedom - to leave open opportunities for relatively unconstrained
self-directed purposeful and purposeless engagement in pleasure - in
whatever form each person decides for oneself.
Best regards

it has great sentimental value and holds many fond memories.
