The following vacancies are open at the Digital Design Studio of the
Glasgow School of Art, Glasgow, Scotland. Through its strategic alliances
with leading-edge industrial partners, the Digital Design Studio is among
leaders in advanced high-end 3D digital technologies with an excellent
research portfolio in virtual prototyping, advanced 3D visualization and
human computer interaction.
Research Fellow (c£23,000) to work on the EPSRC Research Project ?Supporting
Customer Interaction Feedback and Information? (SCIFI) in the automotive
sector. Duties include devising technical and operational strategies to
achieve project aims, management of research teams and liaison with
strategic partners (Ford Motor Company and OCF plc) on project delivery.

VR Research Programmer (c £27,000) to work within a small project team
researching advanced human interfaces in the field of automotive design.
The project integrates head-tracked, large-scale stereo imagery (Fakespace
Immersive Workbench), haptic feedback (Virtual Technologies Cyber Touch and
Grasp) and 3-D spatialised sound (Lake Huron System) to provide a compelling
and intuitive virtual experience. Ref: DDS.001
Three fully funded PhD studentships in collaboration with either the Defence
Evaluation Research Agency (DERA) (2 posts) or EPSRC (1 post) for designers
and researchers well versed in 3-D CAD systems. Ref: DDS.003
