I'd like to hear more about evidence based policy and how it is working in
the United Kingdom. I realise that it has made its way from the health
arena through to social policy, and it is the social policy side which
interests me. How much commitment has the Blair government made to the
idea? What kinds of organisations have emerged/had funding increases to
ensure research/policy links?
Considering that knowledge utilization has been one of the most discussed
areas of the research/policy nexus, what kind of mechanisms have been
introduced to ensure that evidence based policy takes place?
Do members think the idea can work? And is such an idea likely to survive
a change of government?
Are there any publications which are relevant? (I have followed the web
suggestion of Anne Scott and I have that material.)
Thank you in advance to any contributors.
