Dear Andy Kerr,
Thank you very much for the two references. I am aware of Perry's
and Read's contributions. I am not too familiar with the Los Rancho
tool, but I am told that it requires thorough teaching of how to use it
and it is quite time-consuming to use.
Read's G.A.I.T. scale has some good ideas but I feel that a three
point scale does not give you enough variation without objective
landmarks. The intra- and inter-reliability testing was based on only
four patients and open to subjective interpretations.
I shall look further into the Ranch tool.
Many thanks
Brigitte
> I have used three different methods. 1) The Rancho Los Amigos Form that you are probably aware of and is in her (Perry) book (Gait analysis), I have also used G.A.I.T form (Read et al.) which was an abstract in a recent Gait and Posture Journal. Finally I have used another form in teaching
observational gait analysis which is more concerned with the specific determinants of gait.
