Dear Robert,
To deny the problem would be to let it carry on.
By suggesting how it can be stopped is confronting it.
What is being suggested isn't the censorship of
someone with something to say. It is the excluding of
someone who has nothing to say. I have been as guilty
as anyone in the past of posting light-hearted
comments to the list but they have always been placed
right next to a physiotherapy related question or an
answer to another list member's query. If I wanted to
find my email box full of hannibal lecter stories i
would join barry norman's mailbase list.
While we're on the subject of physiotherapy - how
would people feel about selecting a topic / condition
of the week and people sharing their treatment ideas?
Just a thought.
Or we could carry on with the way the list is going
and all name our favourite films instead.
Nick
Isn't it interesting that instead of trying to answer
the question
'What is
this list for', which I thought would be a question to
which all
members
would have some constructive comment to make, various
people are simply
trying to block certain contributors.
There are three ways of dealing with conflict - You
can confront it,
you can
avoid it, or you can deny that it exists in the first
place.
Robert
