Interesting how sneezing went from some sort of bodily
affliction (or ersatz exorcism) to a sign of contempt.
Didn't people in later centuries carry a substance
(snuff? pepper?) to provoke a sneeze to indicate
disrespect, thereby producing our "That's nothing to
sneeze at"?
