The SCONUL Advisory Committee on Scholarly Communication would be interested
to hear about any work re e-book suppliers going on in Library schools and
Depts of Inf Sci. The message below gives a bit more background, but don't
confine your answers to the specific questions raised - any
research/consultancy you are doing in this field will be of interest.

>>At today's SCONUL ACOSC meeting one of the items on the agenda was the
>>possible future role of e-book suppliers in the scholarly communication
>>landscape. Will they supply much of the need currently being supplied by
>>library short-loan collections? Will they collaborate with libraries in
>>supplying the student market?
>>
>>Whatever their future role, it does appear that some of them will be major
>>players in the information scene, so ACOSC thought that we should discover
>>more about SCONUL libraries' interaction with e-book suppliers like
>>NetLibrary, Questia, ebrary etc. Are you looking at them seriously? Have
>>any of them approached you to offer a service? We are not asking for
>>commercial-in-confidence information, only whether and at what stage any
>>discussions are being held.
>>
>>Thanks,
>>
