TENDER TO DEVELOP INFORMATION AND ADVICE ABOUT THE PROVISION OF EQUIPMENT AND ADAPTATIONS, AND ACCESS ROUTES.
Tenders are invited by Sheffield City Council to carry out a small-scale, time limited development project following on from initial research carried out locally.
Project Aims
1. To develop to production (e.g. ready for print) information and advice materials about the provision of equipment and adaptations, and access routes. Key elements are,
· Use of plain language
· Availability in a range of formats
· Meeting corporate standards of design and printing
· Meeting legal requirements
· Information and advice about what equipment and adaptations are available from statutory, voluntary and private organisations
· Clarifying the process of requesting and obtaining equipment and adaptations from the Joint Equipment Service
· Describing the eligibility criteria used by Health and Social Services to determine who gets what and priorities for assessment and provision.
· Meeting the up to date and accurate information and advice needs of workers and service users.
· Small-scale market testing with service users and workers.
2. Design to production a range of correspondence to service users advising of progress and outcomes following requests for help. Key elements are,
· Use of plain language
· Availability in a range of formats
· Meeting corporate standards of design and printing
· Meeting legal requirements
· Clarify the process of requesting and obtaining equipment and adaptations from the Joint Equipment Service
· Small-scale service user consultation
The project will:
Be based on a social approach to inclusion.
Begin in April 2001 and be completed by mid-June 2001 (10 weeks), although the exact timescale will be negotiable.
All the project documentation will remain the sole property of the City Council.
