Have you any experience of Walk-In Centres? Ours shares our reception
area and seems only to increase my workload and that of the other
doctors. Punters are positively encouraged to attend by posters in
Tesco's, buses, tube trains etc. The opening hours of the Walk-In
centre are poorly advertised. The result is that I saw 4 cases of
'flu and someone needing emergency contraception between midnight and
7am today.
NHS Direct advise people to visit us, or phone us for advice. Some
such suggestions are inappropriate.
