LIRG ANNUAL LECTURE
CHALLENGES FOR THE BRITISH LIBRARY IN THE 21st. CENTURY
LYNNE BRINDLEY, CHIEF EXECUTIVE, BRITISH LIBRARY
The guest speaker for the Library and Information Research Group
Annual Lecture this year will be Lynne Brindley, Chief Executive,
British Library who will be talking on the theme, "Challenges for the
British Library in the 21st. Century". The Annual Lecture is open
to both members and non-members of the Library & Information
Research Group.
The Annual Lecture and AGM of the Group will take place on
Thursday 15th March 2001 at Bloomsbury Theatre Building, 2nd
Floor, 15 Gordon Street, London, WC1 from 2.00pm.
Programme
2.00pm LIRG AGM:
Please note: The meeting will be discussing whether LIRG
should become a Special Interest Group (SIG) of the new
professional body
2.30pm Presentation of Elsevier/LIRG Award to John Cullen,
Institute Librarian, Dublin Institute of Technology who will be
conducting his research on the Irish Market for Library and
Information Work.
2.50pm Presentation of LIRG Prizes followed by Tea/Biscuits
3.30pm LIRG Annual Lecture
"Challenges for the British Library in the 21st century".
