[THE FOLLOWING HAS BEEN FORWARDED FROM LISA BROOME]
I've found the essays in _Petrarch's Triumphs: Allegory and Spectacle_
(Eisenbichler & Iannucci, eds., U Toronto Italian Studies, 4, 1990)
helpful on the topic of cultural forms'--particularly the
triumph's--transmission.
Perhaps also see the introduction to _Lord Morley's Triumphs of Fraunces
Petrarch: The 1st English Translation of the Trionfi_ (D.D. Carnicelli,
Harvard UP, 1971). I haven't seen the new _Triumphs of English'Henry Parker,
Lord Morley: Translator to the Tudor Court: New Essays in Interpretation_
(Marie Axton & James P. Carley, eds., British Library/U Toronto, 2000) yet,
but it may be helpful as well.
