The first copy of the electronic journal: Social Issues is now available
at:
http://www.whb.co.uk/socialissues
The first issue, focuses on the new oil crisis. There is a link from the
site to an online discussion group, where the issues raised can be debated
and readers can add their own observations and comments.
This new electronic journal is designed to promote student learning and
debate, by making available free reading/learning material to students.
Articles will now be considered for subsequent issues. It is proposed that
future issues will take a more open format, and therefore can cover a
variety of social issues. This is to encourage writing on a wide range of
issues.
Feedback on this new electronic resource (and how it might be developed in
the future) is also welcome.
Details of how to submit articles for consideration are
at:http://www.whb.co.uk/socialissues/writingfor.htm
At the present time it is hoped that the costs of providing and developing
the resource will be met by sales of books and stationery direct from the
site - via a partnership agreement with WH Smith and their on line bookshop.
