I also agree with the criticisms made about the thoughtless post. However, our criticisms should perhaps go straight to R Milburn since, like a few other members of this list, he appears not to read other postings (or he would have posted an apology by now, wouldn't he?) but instead uses it just to forward news of activities or publications he's involved in. Still, he IS a busy Professor.
Was it a coincidence, I wonder, that following Paul Stubbs' comment about unsubscribing, two other listmembers did just that (though in the wrong way!)? No coincidence, though, that we have just received a reminder of the List guidelines?
