Just a thought - which I may have missed in the previous fascinating mails - to
what extent has IT, and the web in particualr contributed to increasing
knowledge and access to knowledge about and between agencies - and indeed
service users? There is a sense, in some areas, of emerging international
communities of professionals/researchers etc in a way that is never achieved by
conferences.
Incidentally on another point - I hardly dare send this because sending any
message to the list now results in getting about 20 replies that folk are
either not there, or have moved or whatever. Well done for everyone who has
persevered through this deluge - some more than once - but please can someone
do some housekeeping on the list and please can we have a reminder on
suspending rather than auto-replies. Sorry to gripe but it needs sorting.
