***Oh no - we are all slaves to the problems of science and our own struggles
to understand anything! As long as we are never slaves to some well marketed
hype and pseudo-something or other!
Anyhow, the total lack of response by any craniosacreds is par for the course
- they really do believe in the adage if you ignore something, it will go
away and no more people will add fuel to the fire. Big error, because
science and logical enquiry will never go away and forget.
So, having read the literature and the limited amount of research that has
been done in this field, coupled with our knowledge of human anatomy, we may
continue to conclude that craniosacral methods are no more effective than any
other manual and tactile therapy, including the ancient "mothers kissing it
better" technique. In other words, learn some basic massage, learn to touch
and be touched, revel in the sensation and save yourself any money that you
would have wasted on similar cranial techniques. At least you know that you
are being basic hedonists or users of the placebo response and that you are
not being persuaded too part with your hard earned money by accomplished
latter day snake oil salespersons. If this assessment appears to be too
harsh, let those who support this form of therapy as being anything special
over and above any other 'touching' techniques give us the evidence. And
Isaac will be there to entice you somewhere or other :)
