numerous patients, especially those with chronic or recurrent low back
pain. Comments from delegates on the last course:

low back pain - I use it daily in my practice'.

injuries'.
* 'Excellent - one of the best courses I've ever attended'
'Very challenging both academically and practically'.
Core stability is the control of the abdominal and spinal muscles and
their interaction with the surrounding muscles of the trunk and lower
extremities. The aim is to reduce injury and enhance athletic
performance by having balance and control of the musculo-skeletal
system.
Aims:
To provide delegates with knowledge and practical skills to enable them
to help patients improve core stability and
thereby minimise injury and increase performance.
Outcomes:
You will be able to:
1. To understand the principles behind core stability
including:
a. Spinal and pelvic stability;
b. Specific abdominal exercises;
c. Difference between mobilising and stabilising
muscle groups.
2. Carry out specific muscle testing for abdominal and
spinal muscles;
3. Identify muscle/trunk weaknesses and cause of injury
aiding diagnosis and prevention of further injury;
4. Acquire knowledge and practical skills that you will be
able to use immediately in practice (for any patient with trunk
instability - sporting or non sporting).
The lectures are being given by Mark Buckingham who is a Chartered
