Discover how to get the most out of staff and manage the poor performer in:
Positive approaches to negative performance
A one day Library Association workshop on 27 February, in London
Dealing with negative performance presents a challenge to any manager. There
are a wide range of situations that may have to be dealt with - from
coaching an individual who is under achieving through to dealing with
challenging or subversive behaviour and possibly dismissal. Poor performance
can have a detrimental affect on the morale and motivation of other staff,
costs money and, if not checked, can damage relationships with customers.
Benefits from attending
It will help participants deal with the 'poor performer' and explore how to
turn poor performance around, create a more acceptable situation and deal
with more extreme cases.
By the end of the event participants will have:
* explored how to set and implement clear standards of performance
* looked at strategies and sanctions for improvement
* identified different techniques for dealing with difficult behaviour
* discovered how to manage disciplinary action and the law
* developed an individual action plan
Who will benefit from attending?
Senior library and information staff who are responsible for the work of
others.
