Hello,
Talking with Marcelo, I found out that no reference format had
been discussed for
our project yet. Since there will (might, should?) be many
bibliographical
references coming soon from all of us, there should be an common
agreement on how
the references should be formatted.
As I've encountered a similar problem (a common one, for sure)
while editing Trends
in Gestural Control of Music, here is what I propose.
Marcelo and I had suggested at that time to all invited authors
to use the
reference guidelines from Computer Music Journal. Their format
is derived from the
Chicago Manual of Style, but this book, while excellent, does
not propose a single
format, but several. This is why simply referring to the Chicago
Manual of Style
isn't enough, and I suggest that you have a look at the CMJ's
Web page,
Instructions to authors. Here's the URL:
http://mitpress.mit.edu/e-journals/Computer-Music-Journal/Documents/auth/index.html
A final note: before I start contributing to this WG, I'll need
to know what's the
consensus on that, as I wouldnt like to spend time on modifyiing
all the references
because of a change of format. Thus, my opinion is that this is
question to which
we have a simple answer. Any format that isn't described in the
CMJ's page might be
lookep up in the Chicago Manual of Style and described on this
forum.
What do you think?
Best,
Marc Battier
