Address the challenges of Pharmaceutical and Medical Device reimbursement
Allergan, a technology driven company with sales in excess of $1.3 billion,
is a global leader in speciality pharmaceutical products and surgical
devices. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a talented individual
to apply his / her expertise in pricing and reimbursement within various
European healthcare systems. The successful candidate will become a key
member of a recently created pan-European team focusing on the technical
input that is key to the achievement and maintenance of successful pricing
and reimbursement. He/she will assume responsibility for activities in
Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and the Netherlands. The position will be
based at our modern offices near Karlsruhe in Germany (although in very
exceptional circumstances alternative locations such as our campus on the
beautiful Cote d'Azur, France, or in the Thames Valley, England might be
considered.)
Ideally you will have the following Profile:
* A strong scientific background with a solid knowledge of health
economics
* Good commercial awareness, preferably with some commercial
experience
* Excellent Communication skills
* Fluent in German, English, and if possible a 3rd EU language
* An intimate understanding of the healthcare system & the role and
requirements of the major pricing and reimbursement decision-makers in the
above countries
* Preferably 3 to 5 years experience of responsibilities similar to
those described below. This should include experience of the preparation of
technical and economic pricing and reimbursement dossiers. This experience
may have been gained working within a pharmaceutical company, a management
consultancy specialising in this area, or a department reviewing such
dossiers within a Ministry or Health Insurance agency.
Your responsibilities will include:
* For new products - customising centrally generated evidence of
cost-effectiveness and economic value. Adapting and further developing the
arguments into the locally required format.
* Preparing the input required for the reimbursement of new products,
and the arguments required for the pricing & reimbursement defence of
existing products
* Using the benefit of your front-line experience to influence the
development of Pricing and Reimbursement dossiers in other EU countries
* Working closely with our Marketing Teams and/or External
Consultancies in:
* Identifying & building relationships with the key national economic
decision-makers
* Lobbying and other pricing and reimbursement development activities
* Developing the sales team's understanding of the national healthcare
system, the requirements of the key economic decision-makers and the
communication of the economic & QoL benefits of the company's products.
