I'm a design anthropologist working in high tech,
and I'm trying to determine how the shift to
interactive TV from PCs. If you know where I might
look, your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I have been looking for some research that compares
eye movements between devices. Essentially, I am
interested in the way our behavior is patterned by
the types of activities we are engaged with.
It is my hypothesis that users have a tendency to
scan the screen more in a computer application than
they do in a television presentation, even when
the television presents computer-like information.
Surely research on this topic has been done, but
when I search the recent publications through the
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute library, I've
been unable to find papers reporting research
results in this area.
Factors/Variables that differ between these devices
and might affect eye movements might be:
* distance from the screen
* sitting posture (upright at the PC vs. reclining for TV)
* screen resolution
* peripheral vision--use of vs. inattention to
