Dear list-members,
I would just like to inform you of a new mailing list
econeval-social-welfare which has been set up to help facilitate discussion
of developments in conceptual frameworks and methodological approaches for
economic evaluations in the field of social welfare, and how they may be
applied in empirical research. It arises as a result of work undertaken at
the London School of Economics,
in collaboration with the Joseph Rowntree Foundation to examine how the use
of economic evaluation might be fostered and developed in social welfare. An
important aspect of this exercise is to build bridges and encourage
collaboration in evaluation between different disciplines. The list will
serve as a vehicle for dissemination of information to an electronic network
of individuals (and organisations) active or interested in the economic
evaluation of social welfare policies, activities and interventions. A web
site will also be established later this month to complement the mailing
list and generate further awareness.
