Disability / Health Services Researcher
The Liberty Mutual Research Center in Hopkinton, Mass. is
seeking a qualified researcher to join our Center for
Disability Research (CDR). This investigator will join an
internationally-recognized team to study the causes, costs,
and prevention of disability in workers. The successful
candidate will conceptualize, develop, and implement
investigations, with excellent opportunities for
peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
The CDR is a fully-funded, interdisciplinary group with
significant experience in health services research,
occupational and rehabilitation medicine, clinical
psychology, epidemiology, and sociology. Our mission is to
develop new knowledge to support the employment of those
with injury or illness. To accomplish this, a range of
research strategies are pursued. These include analyses of
claims and medical care data from individuals with
work-related as well as non-work-related conditions,
in-depth case-control and cohort studies, and both clinical
and workplace-based evaluations and interventions.
Currently, we have over a dozen active projects, substantial
collaborations with several leading national and
international academic institutions, and active faculty
appointments at local universities. All of our findings are
reported in the peer-reviewed scientific literature. The
CDR is part of the Liberty Mutual Research Center, a leader
for over half a century in research on the safety and health
of workers. Excellent computer, statistical, research and
technical support are all available on-site.
Candidates should have advanced degrees, and research
interests in rehabilitation, disability, health services,
epidemiology or workers' health. Although prior work in the
area of health and work is preferred, this is not an
essential requirement. Salary and benefits are highly
competitive, and commensurate with training and experience.
