Just two more points comeing from a scientific background:
Shouldn't we (as a profession) be looking at pathology and treatment and
seeing what works. Shouldn't this be done not to prove a hypothesis but to
see what gives our patients the nest chance of a pain free active life.
Also just to be paranoid I always wonder what would happen if I made a
patient worse to the point where I ended up in court and the following
happened:
Prosecuting attorney: Why did you choose to manipulate your patients (now
deceased) neck?
Me: An Ozzie physio called Maitland said I should your honour.
Prosecution: Why did he say this?
Me: I do not really know the guy has no good evidence now and definetely
didn't when he first said it. But it is OK because thousands of others do
the same sort of thing daily.
Sorry this is a little on the childish side, but what the heck!!
Cheers,
John Willenbruch
