Dear Mel
If you did not exist someone would have had to invent you.
My Saturday evenings with a Gin & Tonic would not be the same without your
valuable and sometimes irreverent 'digs' at received wisdom.
I have no personal experience of the subject except that a very dear friend
of mine has a son who may have been 'traumatised at birth' and has been
significantly helped after only a few sessions of cranio-sacral osteopathy.
Behaviour/social skills and leaning ability have all been significantly
improved, not to mention sleeping patterns, which has been a major factor in
family life.
Can you point me to a reference which will suggest the age at which children
may be influenced by adult perceptions or beliefs? Neither of my offspring
(aged 37 and 21) seem to have been influenced by any of my, admittedly
entrenched, beliefs but I have difficulty in accepting that a 3 year old boy
will alter his behaviour patterns, without good reason, as the result of the
micro-manipulation which cranio-sacral therapy posits. You cannot argue with
babies; it either works or it doesn't. It is, of course, the same with
animals.....but that may be the topic for another Siffism!
Please continue to brighten my Saturday evenings with your erudite and
elegantly phrased posts to this site: it is such a pleasure to receive mail
which is melodic (no pun intended), grammatical and intellectually
stimulating.
Yours aye, Tony Windsor
