My request of this morning seems to have stirred up some, ahem,
curiosity. I just want to clarify that the intention is that all of the
university's existing web pages will continue on the present server,
but that this will be renamed and new ColdFusion server will
become the default www.rgu.ac.uk i.e. we will have 2 servers, one
with all existing materials and a completely new one on which new
content will be built. All new developments will take place through a
custom built editor suite on the new server.

Thanks for the comments so far - I'm in total agreement with
Charles about our site's structure, and its redefinition along less
departmental lines is what I've been working on. Expect changes,
whatever the technology. Mike McConnell's comments on
links/absolute URLs are very interesting - how important/serious is
this likely to be?

Thanks, keep them coming.

Iain
