At the recent Institutional Web Management workshop an Belfast a couple
of people mentioned (after several pints of Guinness, I think) that it
might be useful, from a career development perspective, to get an idea
of the approaches taken to institutional Web management taken by
institutions in other countries.
Coincidentally UCISA have a travel bursary of £3,000:
"The purpose of the UCISA Travel Bursary is to promote closer links
between UCISA member institutions in the UK and Information Systems or
Services departments in Higher Education abroad. The object of the award
is to assist and encourage the transfer of good practice from other
countries to the UK."
Details are available at <http://www.ucisa.ac.uk/awards/burs01.htm>.
Note that the closing date for submissions for the awards will be 13
July 2001.
If anyone is interested in applyin, feel free to get in touch with me
(if the submission is to do with the Web). I may be able to help in the
dissemination of the report e.g. let you give a talk at next year's
workshop on "Approaches to Web Site Management In The South Pacific" :-)
