I'm giving a seminar in a few weeks time for UK HE PR and marketing
community.
I'd like to give some examples of the different approaches to the main
University entry point.
I'd like to give examples of the following types:
Traditional menu page (to Faculties, departments, etc.)
News page, with a substantial portion (>20%) of news information
Traditional menu page with news feed
"Splash screen"
Personalised page (for staff, students, visitors, etc.)
Dynamic page (using DHTML to provide pull-down menus, etc.)
Use of Flash, Java, etc. to provide various features.
Minimalist and maximalist approaches (no scrolling vs a lot of scrolling)
I'll make use of my rolling demo of entry points at
http://www.ukoln.ac.uk/web-focus/site-rolling-demos/universities/
However, to save me having to go through them all, I'd be grateful if anyone
could supply me with examples of these types.
Any suggestions for other ways of classifying University entry points?
Thanks
Brian
