A specification of an interpretation (eg instantiated as a XSLT
transformation). But I know, before anyone jumps down my throat, that
the input as also an interpretation of something, right back down the
line, so the distinction is meaningless. There is no point at which
you can jump from objective to subjective. In practice, however, it is
not that hard to see that this:
<dtdFrag id="DCE" n="Certainty and uncertainty"
file="teicert2"><tagDecl tagDoc="CERTAIN"/> <dtdRef
dtdFrag="DCERESP"/></dtdFrag>
is considerably more abstract than the presentational interpretation at
http://www.hcu.ox.ac.uk/TEI/Guidelines/ref/CERTAIN.htm
