The autocomplete function in IE can be turned off in Internet Options:
Tools -> Internet Options -> Content tab -> Autocomplete...
To delete invidual autocomplete entries displayed in the drop down list from
a form field, double click to display the list, hover over the item to be
deleted (ie highlight it) and press the keyboard delete button.
The MSIE autocomplete attribute can be used with individual text and
password tags to turn this functionality off:
<input type="text" autocomplete="off" [etc] >
and with form tags to turn if off for a whole form:
<form autocomplete="off" [etc] >
