Growth & Form: Biomedical Images - Awards and Interpretations
"From test-tube to technicolor - scientists are combining chemistry and
imaging to produce vibrant pictures of the structures and processes that
support life."
The wonders of modern biomedical science are brought to life in a new
exhibition hosted at The Wellcome Trust's Two10 Gallery on Euston Road,
London.
Growth & Form looks not only at the influence of scientific thought on
contemporary art, but how art has the potential to influence scientific
imaging.
The exhibition juxtaposes 22 images which compose the Biomedical Image
Awards 2001 organised by The Wellcome Trust's Medical Photographic Library,
alongside works by nine contemporary artists and designers who are
influenced by aspects of the biomedical world.
Growth & Form is open from Monday to Friday 9.00am to 6.00pm and runs until
27th July 2001. Admission is free. The gallery is situated at 210 Euston
Road, London, NW1 2BE. The nearest London Underground stations are Euston
and Euston Square.
The exhibition can also be viewed on the Wellcome Trust website:
