(Apologies for x-posting...but it appears that not all the relevant people
are of the UKHEP-Globus list)
Since not everyone was at Tuesday's meeting there are 3 items
that I would like to reiterate:
1) An experimental MDS cache of the existing UK testbed0 sites
has been setup with URL ldap://heppcb.ph.qmw.ac.uk:2173 with a
base ou=gridpp,o=grid. You should we able to explore this with LDAPExplorer
or your favorite client (please let me know of any problems).
Currently only 3 sites (bristol, edinburgh and qmul) are in this, because
when I last checked the other sites had not apparently updated to the lastest
Globus RPM's. I would like to be able to add all the sites, so please update
your installations...or if you don't wish replace with the attached file
or edit the binary /opt/globus/libexec/globus-gram-scheduler to replace the
text string "machine_type:" with "machinetype:" (underscores are illegal in
LDAP attributes). Please let me know when you have done.
2) If there are any other sites that wish to be in the MDS please let me know.
(The current sites are bham,bris,edinburgh, glasgow, liv, man, oxford, ral and
qm)
3) Starting in the week beginning 3rd September we would like to start testing
and deploying a prototype M9 kit of parts. I would like to identify a few test
sites/people who are prepared to install this for tests. This will likely
require frequent updates as we iterate foreward, and the volunteers will need
to be prepared to keep up to date.
