the trouble with bad poems is I lose the impetus to improve them even
quicker than I do with my so-called good ones

Is it US National Poetry Day too, or are you referring to our poet laureate?
He usually comes up with something to mark really important occasions (Royal
birthdays, Royal comings-of-ages, Royal goings up to Universities, Royal
sprainings of wrists at polo....)
I suppose it could have been worse. We could still have the Cromwells. They
made the Taliban look liberal......
