Dear All, I wrote this at the time of our Lowell
hyperpoem endeavour and gave it the thumbs down.
Since it's still in my file I thought I would submit
it to you before deleting it (if it plummets). Some
how don't think I would write this now- must be all

             Hide and Seek



      'Where are you?' she called
      as she had called every evening
      for at least six months.

      She could have reviewed her track,
      closed the door gently,
      hung up her coat and scarf,

      arranged her briefcase and her shopping bags,
      just as he'd like them,
      in his hall.

      Instead she forwarded on fast,
      to play her game.
      'Coming' she sang.

      She found his likeness in an attic room,
      neat piles of youth around his feet,
      a focussed distance in his look.

      She found scant interest in the re-cast game;

      closed the door softly when she left.
