Ok, and here's the best of the rest. Note to Stazja though - it's 'The
River Avon', not 'The Avon River'. All of which is more problematic because
'Avon' is of course British (Brithonic, Cimric, Welsh) for 'River'. Also,
there is no such traditional dish as 'Spotted Dick', it is a notorious and
cruel deception played by certain perverse restauranteurs on patrons from
the New World. I strongly recommend you consult your attorney. Right after
you've finished consulting your doctor. J

---------------------------------------------------------------------~->

Hello Poets!

I'm home again home again jiggedy jig. Fell in love with England: the
Avon River in Bristol, the London Underground, the American Diner
with its delightful waitpersons from Greece, Mexico and South Africa,
Hunter's Moon Pub in Copthorne where I experienced Spotted Dick (a
dessert), Meridian Confectionery and Saint Hill in East
Grinstead...

Big belated thanks to Tim Gibbard (Bristol International Festival),
Lucy English, Richard Heley, Geoff Bamford, Agnes Meadows (Paddington
International Poetry Festival), Victoria Mosley (Paradigm Poets),
Carl Dhiman (Poetry Place), Peter of Poets Anonymous UK, for your
poetic hospitality. Victoria Mosley again, for that much-appreciated
home cooked dinner. And Brinsley Sheridan for turning me on to the
Troubador, the best coffee house I've ever met.

I hope to see each of you at the Austin International Poetry Festival
next April.

Welcome to all the new Mappers I picked up along with way.

Austinites, check out the November issue of Good Life Magazine,
featuring an profile on Hyde Park Poet Laureate Albert Huffstickler,
with a MAP sidebar.

Wishing you ghouls and goblins and poets a happy Halloween.

About The Book: Journey into the heart of emotion where paintings
illuminate poems opening doorways to the soul. In this collection of
five poetry chapbooks, join the poet along his fight into adulthood.
Each chapbook is a self-published pamphlet style book the poet has
printed and sold on consignment in local bookstores. Feel the angst,
pain, and inspiration of growing up in Los Angeles during the Los
Angeles Riots, the Millennium, and the Laguna Beach and Malibu fires
from 1990 - 2001. Each successive chapbook has a different poetic
theme. 24 Hours Lost Hope asks and answers the tough questions of
growing up. Sunset on California explores protests against
proposition 187, Governor Pete Wilson, and the El Toro Airport.
Poetry from the Santa Ana Train Station chronicles the poet's job at
the train depot. Millennium madness dominates later chapters. The
poems and art were created for poetry slams and open poetry readings
at Southern California venues.

Howard E. Yosha:
Graduate of UCLA with a BA degree in English, Creative Writing and
Keller Graduate School of Management, Irvine, CA, with a Masters in
Telecommunications Management degree (MTM). Employed by Adelphia
Communications as a cable television account executive. Author and
illustrator of five self published poetry chapbooks included in this
collection From the Santa Ana Train Station, Sunset on California, 24
Hours Lost Hope, Millennium Madness Can Not Compare to Literal
Madness, and Technophobia. Many included paintings and poems have
been published in Acorn, Adobe Abelone, The Art of Poetry, The Black
Rose, Coffee Shop Poetics, Confection, Creative Voite, Dublin Poetry
Journal, Doon Valley Poetry Journal, and Wired Hearts Magazine. He is
resident of Laguna Hills, CA.
