Hi everyone,
I'm wondering if someone knows of a way to transform between Talairach and
MNI coordinates. I know that there's a digitized version of the Talairach
atlas, which consists of pictures of the drawings in the atlas (I think
it's commercial, and I haven't seen it). I also know that there was a
message posted to the list some time ago that gave transformation
coordinates:
To get from MNI to Talairach:
X' = .88x+.8
Y' = .97y+3.32
Z' = .05y+.88z-.44
To get from Talairach to MNI:
X' = 1.13x+.88
Y' = 1.03y+3.17
Z'=.05y+1.14z+.44
I'm wondering how these transformations were derived - I heard that
they were derived by normalizing a Talairach brain into MNI space. If so,
then what I may be looking for is that "Talairach brain" that can be
normalized.
Also, are these transformations still the "best guess" on how to relate
the two coordinate systems?
Thank you very much for your help.
