Dear Nathan:
I don't recall what the defaults are but if you look at the file
spm_defaults.m you can figure it out.
About 80% of the way through the file you'll find the following lines.
% affine normalisation.
%-----------------------------------------------------------------------
sptl_Ornt = [0 0 0 0 0 0 1 1 1 0 0 0]; % Neurological Convention (R is
R)
% sptl_Ornt = [0 0 0 0 0 0 -1 1 1 0 0 0]; % Radiological Convention (L
is R)
The line without the % in front is what is being used. Whether images
are flipped also depends on which way your software sets up the images
after getting them from the scanner. If the images are set up in
Radiologic convention then you would want them flipped to Neurologic
given the above.
