MRI PHYSICIST
The Brain Research Imaging Center (BRIC) of the University of Chicago is
dedicated to performing brain research with MRI, including fMRI and MRS.
The Center is equipped with a state-of-the-art 3 T whole-body MRI system,
which is being used by research groups in the University's Departments of
Psychology, Neurology, Psychiatry, Radiology, and Neurosurgery. The Center
is seeking an MRI physicist who will be responsible for providing
methodological support for BRIC and who will have an opportunity to pursue
his/her own research interests. The position can be an any level, and it
can be customized to meet the needs of the individual (e.g., tenure-track
vs. research track vs. staff appointment). Our ideal candidate will have a
Ph.D. in physics, medical physics, or a related field (e.g., engineering),
as well as broad experience in MRI imaging techniques. Pulse programming
expertise will be valued. The Center is located on the University of
Chicago campus, in close proximity to the Departments of Physics and
Chemistry and just ten minutes from the heart of downtown Chicago along the
