If you have not included a volume preserving step then you can quantify
in terms of number of voxels of grey matter per voxel. If the volume preserving
step has been done using spm_preserve_quantity.m , then I think (although I
would need to check the code properly) the units are cubic millimeters of grey matter
per voxel.

There is no actual toolbox for doing VBM. The volume preserving step can be done
using the spm_preserve_quantity.m file that I emailed to the list last July:
