I'm not going to say much about the smoothness, but just explain that images
all need to be resampled to the same stereotaxic space for the statistics
routine to work.
In this case, the error "images do not all have same orientation & voxel
size" means that the images had .mat files that were all different,
reflecting the slightly different relative positions of the subjects head
through the time series.
The r*.img had all been resampled according to the .mat files, so they all
theoretically had the same orientation and the stats module worked.
