hello, all,
I've had a number of troubles trying to use them together with spm.
I've got it running finally, so here is how I got around my problems, in
case someone else is interested (i think I saw a post earlier asking
about the combination)..
1. Matlab 6 requires an upgrade of glibc to glibc2.2. I've been trying
to do it with the RPM, and it's just not happening for me. There are a
number of conflicts that make the rpm fail. "Luckily", one can still
run matlab without java by starting it with 'matlab -nojvm'. ANyone
know how to properly do the upgrade to glibc2.2?
2. When you start spm, there seems to be a problem with spm_platform.m
. It turns out that in some calls to probe what the platform is, the
system returns 'GLNX86', instead of the expected 'LNX86' string. This
was solved by adding another couple of lines making 'LNX86' and 'GLNX86'
do the same things.
3. Finally, the spm box comes up, but there is a crash due to needing to
compile the mex files with spm_MAKE.sh. I found this odd, since I
didn't have to do this when running Matlab 5.3 on red hat 6.2. Fine, so
I ran the spm_MAKE.sh, and it crashed mysteriously. It turned out that
I needed to specify the path of gccopts.sh in the script (just like it
said on the warning). ie- replace gccopts.sh with
/opt/matlab6.0/bin/gccopts.sh .... or whatever your path is ...
now everything seems to be working for now...
