In the Department of Psychology, a position as university professor (full
professor), salary bracket C4
(highest compensation level in the German pay scale for university professors),
for Biological Psychology and Neuropsychology,
sucession of Prof. Dr. Kurt Pawlik,
is to be filled starting April 1, 2003
Tasks:
Research and teaching in the aforementioned subject areas. A strong
commitment to research is required. Excellent collaboration opportunities
are available with the Department of Neurophysiology (MEG) and the
Neurological Clinic (PET, fMRI) of the Faculty of Medicine.
An involvement in teaching topics in areas with other domains of psychology
is expected.
Teaching obligations: 8 hours per week during the semester
Appointment requirements:
Appointments are made according to § 15 of the Hamburg University Law,
stating that the ability to conduct scientific work is usually
demonstrated by a qualified dissertation or comparable scientific
achievement. The additional scientific achievements are usually
proved by a habilitation (German comprehensive second
dissertation). For the appointment of foreign scientists or in
other particular cases the ability of conducting scientific work is
demonstrated by equivalent scientific achievements.
Special abilities and achievements in teaching are taken into account,
For this purpose teaching experience as well as ideas related to
teaching have to be stated in the application. The University of
