We project an image onto a small screen that sits near the subject's head
in the scanner. We purchased a single lens from Edmund Scientific ($100
or so) and had our machine shop construct a sliding tube (for focus) that
could be mounted to the LCD projector to hold the lens. Total cost was
about $500, I believe, and it works great.
