I have been running Matlab R12 for several months now with SPM99 to
analyse MRI, SPECT and PET data, but not fMRI data. We have had no
problems except a few warnings about some of the syntax in SPM not being
compatible with the NEXT release of Matlab. This is running Matlab on a
PC with Linux (SuSE 7.1 - kernel 2.4.2). I do prefer the user interface
with Matlab v6 to that in v5.3 although it is more resource hungry. I
find it easier to manipulate variables that I want to use in SPM. I don't
know if that helps in your decision as to whether it is worth the upgrade.
Regards,
Mark
